VERKHOVNA RADA OF UKRAINIAN SSR RESOLUTION
On the Independence Declaration Day in Ukraine

Taking into account the will of the Ukrainian people and its eternal aspiration for independence,

Confirming the historical importance of adoption of the Declaration of the State Sovereignty of Ukraine on July 16, 1990,

The Verkhovna Rada of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic r e s o l v e s that:

July 16 shall be considered the Independence Declaration Day in Ukraine and shall be celebrated annually as a state nationwide holiday of Ukraine.
