VERKHOVNA RADA OF UKRAINE RESOLUTION
On Certain Measures to Protect State Sovereignty of the Ukrainian SSR

(Vidomosti Verkhovnoyi Rady (VVR) 1991, #9, p. 96)

Taking into account the aggravation of political situation in the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, Considering the developments in various regions of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, Evidencing the possibility of actual danger to the sovereignty of the Ukrainian SSR, and Proceeding from the Declaration State Sovereignty of Ukraine, the Presidium of the Verkhovna Rada of the Ukrainian SSR r e s o l v e s that:

1. Prior to March 1, 1991, election of the chair and the composition of the Commission of the Verkhovna Rada of the Ukrainian SSR on foreign and domestic security shall be filed for consideration on the floor.  

2. Prior to February 24, 1991, the Council of Ministers of the Ukrainian SSR shall report on execution of the following resolutions of the Verkhovna Rada of the Ukrainian SSR:

-  "On the Execution Status of the Resolution of the Verkhovna Rada of the Ukrainian SSR as of July 30, 1990 on the Military Service of Citizens of the Republic" issued on October 10, 1990 as concerns creation of an agency in charge of the draft at republican, oblast, city/town, and rayon levels as part of the executive ranch;

-  "On Immediate Measures to Strengthen Legality, Law and Order in the Republic" issued on November 29, 1990 as concerns subordination of the internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republic located on the territory of the Ukrainian SSR to the top bodies of public authority and administration of the republic.
