“On Amendment of the Law of Ukraine “On Advertising”

This draft is an alternative version of draft law N 2383 that was introduced by the People’s Deputy L.Chernovetsky.

According to this draft law, the Law “On Advertising” shall be added with definitions of such concepts as “promotion” and “elements of trade outlets”.

This draft outlines measures to be taken to ban tobacco and alcohol advertising on TV during day and evening hours and not to allow advertising of relevant brands and trademarks. At the same time, the above draft stipulates that alcohol and tobacco advertising (as well as advertising of relevant trademarks and brands) may take place on TV from 11p.m. to 4 a.m.

It should be mentioned that current version of the Law “On Advertising” totally bans direct alcohol and tobacco advertising on TV and radio, but it allows advertising of relevant trademarks.
