"On Amendment of the Law of Ukraine "On the Customs Tariff of Ukraine""

This draft amends the Law of Ukraine On the Customs Tariff of Ukraine. According to the suggested amendments the import duty rate shall be changed for some goods brought into the customs territory of Ukraine. These amendments will affect goods of the customs group 72 “Ferrous metal”.

It is proposed that import duty is to be levied at the zero rate on goods covered by tariff items from 7204 “Ferrous waste and scrap; re-melting scrap ingots of iron or steel” through the tariff item 7204509000 “Other” when the above goods cross the customs border of Ukraine.

It should be mentioned that goods are referred to customs groups and enter under the relevant tariff items in accordance with the Ukrainian Classification of Goods for Foreign Economic Activity (UCGFEA).

These amendments to the Law On the Customs Tariff of Ukraine, if adopted, will facilitate transparency and attractiveness of the Ukrainian metallurgical sector.
