"On Amendment of the Customs Tariff of Ukraine Approved by the Law of Ukraine "On the Customs Tariff of Ukraine"

The draft suggests lowering rates of import duty for high-tech component parts to computers, setting them at 0% from the customs value of goods. Particularly, such rates are suggested to be decreased for:

• optic and magneto-optic central memory units;
• central memory units on hard drives;
• central memory units on magnetic tape;
• electronic modules;
• integrated electronic circuits and electronic micro-modules with storage capacity exceeding 1Mbyte;
• microprocessors, micro controlling units and microcomputers, etc.

The draft, if approved, will permit lowering prices for high-tech component parts to computers. This, in its turn, will contribute to protecting consumers of respective products through reducing deliveries of low quality imported equipment to Ukraine's market.
